 Tomorrow, the Union County Board of Commissioners will meet in emergency session to consider the Union County Reopening Plan. If approved by the Board of Commissioners, the Plan will be submitted to Governor Kate Brown for approval. Receiving Governor approval of the Union County Reopening Plan is the first step towards an incremental reopening. The Plan outlines specific evidence-based requirements Union County must meet in order to begin. Baker County officials have lifted the overnight closures for the public areas along the Snake River corridor. Officials emphasize that social distancing, including in the outdoors, is an important measure to protect our communities from the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Individuals should maintain at least six feet of distance between themselves and anyone who does not reside in their immediate household and observe any closures posted on properties open to the public.

Union County remains at four confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which three have been classified by Oregon Health Authority as recovered. Wallowa County remains with one confirmed case, who has also been classified as recovered. This morning, the total number of positive cases reported by Oregon Health Authority was 2,510 and 103 COVID-19 deaths. The 64 new cases reported today are in the following counties: Benton (1), Clackamas (8), Coos (5), Deschutes (1), Klamath (1), Linn (4), Malheur (1), Marion (17), Multnomah (11), Umatilla (5), Washington (10). The total number of negative tests in Oregon is 53,522.
